1.  Welcome to the Website of Sommerville Family Practice, PC. We try to bring you the best medical care possible, and computerization is one tool that helps us achieve that. Our practice has been chosen by the 90,000 member American Academy of Family Physicians as one of 36 demonstration practices nationwide for the future of medical care. This website is for informative purposes only. If you need specific medical advice, please contact our office for an appointment.

2.  Dr. Alicia Cress has joined our practice.  Read about Dr. Cress using the "STAFF" link to the left.

3.  Except for urgent matters, during our working hours, we encourage you to e-mail via the Patient Portal for most of your communications with the practice rather than calling on the phone. Click here to enter our Patient Portal. An ID and password for the Patient Portal are available by calling our office or by asking for these at your next office visit. This is a different password than the one you used previously for this web site. You will only use the old password in the future if you do a Virtual Visit.

4. Eventually we will have a site functioning where we can collect information from you before a physical exam.  Not yet, but in the future we might ask you to click here to help the doctor obtain your history 2-3 days before you come for your appointment.  Giving your history will take between 20-30 minutes, but it will give us a more comprehensive picture of your health, and you can work on it in the comfort of your own home.

5. Virtual Visits are no longer available through this site. Since the development of  the Patient Portal, we find that e-mail is a better tool for this purpose. As software improvements occur, we might begin offering virtual visits again.

6. The health tip at the bottom of this page is updated daily.  Check it and our links and handouts buttons (to the left on this screen) regularly for good health information. Check the other buttons for directions and map to the office and to information about our staff.

Daily Health Tip:
Are your canker sores a pain in the mouth? If they're large, last longer than a week or make it too painful to eat, see your family doctor.
