Welcome to the website of Sommerville Family Practice, PC. We care about our patients. We value relationship, competence and partnering with patients. This website is for informative purposes only. If you need specific medical advice, please contact our office for an appointment.

For established patients we guarantee next day appointments for calls received after 2:30 PM and same day appointments  for calls received before 10:00 AM.

We utilize cutting edge technology and innovation to facilitate health care in a warm, caring atmosphere. Our practice has been chosen by the American Academy of Family Physicians as one of 36 practices nationwide to demonstrate the patient centered medical home.

E-mail is our preferred method of communication with patients. Except for urgent matters, e-mail us via the Patient Portal rather than calling on the phone. Click here or above to enter our Patient Portal. An ID and password for the Patient Portal are available by calling our office (804 594-0125) or by asking for these at your next office visit.

The health tip at the bottom of this page is updated daily.  Check it and check our links and handouts buttons (to the left on this screen) regularly for useful health information. Links connect you to sources outside our site, so we cannot guarantee the accuracy of that information. Check the other buttons for directions and map to the office and for information about our staff.

By this winter we plan to offer laser skin treatments including hair removal, skin rejuvenation, and removal of pigmented lesions and spider veins. We will also offer Botox treatments.

Eventually we will have a site functioning where we can collect information from you before a physical exam.  Not yet, but in the future we might ask you to click here to help the doctor obtain your history 2-3 days before you come for your appointment.  Giving your history will take between 20-30 minutes, but it will give us a more comprehensive picture of your health, and you can work on it in the comfort of your own home.

Daily Health Tip:
Can vaccines cause autism? Good research has shown no link between childhood vaccines and autism. Vaccines are an important part of your child's health. Talk to your family doctor if you have any concerns.
